Rave Scans installs India’s first Speedmaster CD 102 Six-colour Foilstar UV Press

Rave Scans India, a distinguished name among the Indian Printing Fraternity, is making a splash again, with the latest installation of the Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 Six colour Foil star UV printing press.

Rave Scans, with its facilities in Delhi, Gurgaon and Manesar, announced the installation of the country`s first Speedmaster CD 102-6+LX with Foilstar from Heidelberg, at a press gathering in Delhi on 5 May 2015.

With this investment, Rave Scan, which started as a pre-press unit in 1993, before diversifying into commercial printing, announced its arrival into the print packaging segment in a big way.

The recent acquisition strengthens the decade-old ties between Ravescan and Heidelberg. "Heidelberg is an integral part of our journey. The Foilstar technology is a masterstroke in packaging printing", smiles Rakesh Bhatnagar, Managing Director, Ravescan India.

From a humble beginning in 1993 as a prepress repro house, Ravescan India exploded into prominence after making the big move towards commercial printing. The rest is history, Today, the print powerhouse is well positioned on an accelerating-growth trajectory with a workforce of more than 400.

The new addition -- Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 six-color Foil star equipment, is a part of Ravescan`s recent expansion into packaging printing. Commenting on the new investment, Rakesh Bhatnagar states, "Adding the Heidelberg CD 102 Foilstar press to our arsenal is a key milestone for our packaging printing venture. The output is impressive and we started our operations with the CD 102 Foil star equipment at our Manesar Plant, Haryana."

Peter Rego, Business Head - Equipment Sales of Heidelberg India comments, Foilstar is the cold foil inline technology from Heidelberg. It hosts an array of excellent value addition probabilities for finishing touches, leading to brilliant metallic print effects for labels, and high qualitiy packaging and commercial jobs.

The Foil star technology is a salvo from the Heidelberg camp that reproduces fine foil elements and solids in a single pass, giving the much -needed perfect print finish for cartons, tags and boxes. High level of automation and the CAN connection to the Prinect press center shortens make-ready and production times, ensuring stable production conditions at all speeds and delivery of top-notch print products. Motifs can be changed in a matter of minutes facilitating faster production. User-friendly operations are an added asset.

The highly energy-efficient Foilstar technology is also a remarkably cost-effective, green initiative. The system requires far less quantities of dampening solution, wash-up solution, and powder, and the resultant wastage is minimum, promoting green and economic printing. The flexible use of up to six foil webs optimizes foil consumption for each print job. Overall, the Foilstar system enables the user to enjoy the benefits of an integrated solution across all Speedmaster classes.

Rakesh Bhatnagar is an ardent admirer of Heidelberg technology. The Speedmaster CD 102 six-color Foilstar is the third Heidelberg machine in Ravescan`s Gurgaon facility, which already houses two CD-102 four-colour presses. In fact, Ravescan India resembles a Heidelberg showroom with its prestigious portfolio featuring the best of Heidelberg, including Heidelberg XL 105 4-colour press, two Heidelberg SM 74 5-colour presses, one Heidelberg SM 102 4-colour press, a set of 4 Polar cutters and five Stahlfolder equipments.

Rakesh Bhatnagar adds "It is a trusted brand. Time and again, Heidelberg has proved its prowess and performance, not to mention the tremendous after-sales support and excellent training. We enjoy an accretive and lucrative partnership with Heidelberg. The return on our investments in Heidelberg technology is inspiring. We are confident that the Foilstar technology would be yet another success story for us".

Klaus Nielsen, Managing Director of Heidelberg India sums up "We are happy and proud to be associated with Ravescan again, and to install our first Foilstar equipment with such a loyal and longtime client. We thank them for their continued patronage and support and congratulate them on their successful foray into packaging printing".
