Show Us Your HEIDELBERG: Howard Iron Works Printing Museum

The Howard Iron Works Museum is an extension of the management of Howard Graphic Equipment Ltd., a company formed in 1967 and entering its 56th year in business. Over the course of their business life, HGE has supplied 4,500 printing units, of which 1,604 have been HEIDELBERG, to 75 countries around the globe.

Their history with Heidelberg traces back to the 1950s when the founder sold and demonstrated platens off the demonstration truck in the Province of Quebec.

The Howard Iron Works Printing History Museum was a lifelong dream of Liana and Nick Howard. The Museum was formed in 2015 in Oakville, Ontario, Canada and is a not-for-profit facility that has on display printing and bindery equipment dating back to the 1830s.

The most extensive collection of HEIDELBERG machines, including some especially rare examples, are displayed and in full working condition. HIW has the oldest – Andreas Hamm paper cutter dated 1877 – to the last of the famous “T” platens to come off the assembly line in 1985.
